次世代の HockeyApp サービスが、Visual Studio App Center に組み込まれることになりました。配布、クラッシュ レポート、分析といった HockeyApp サービスが App Center で提供されるほか、ビルド、テスト、プッシュ通知などの新しいサービスも追加されます。App Center のこれらの機能は、引き続き開発者の生産性向上を支援するものであり、HockeyApp を将来的に App Center に移行する取り組み (英語) の一環でもあります。
App Center で HockeyApp サービスの提供を開始したことに伴い、HockeyApp は 2018 年 11 月 16 日にサービス終了となりました。このため、HockeyApp のお客様は、1 年以内に移行 (英語) を完了する必要があります。この移行をシームレスにするために、既に HockeyApp と App Center の間でお客様のアプリを同期しました。また、サイドバイサイド エクスペリエンス (英語) も構築し、App Center と HockeyApp の両方で HockeyApp アプリの開発を行えるようにしました。

Power BI には、Power BI Desktop の堅牢なセルフサービス型のデータ準備機能が既に組み込まれています。この使い慣れた Power Query ベースのエクスペリエンスは、世界中の何百万人ものユーザーが使用しています。今回、新たに Power BI のデータフローのプレビューが開始され、セルフサービス型のデータ準備が大幅に強化されました。ビジネス アナリストは、データ準備ロジックを作成して、複数の Power BI レポートやダッシュボードで再利用したり、複数のロジックをリンクして高度なデータ変換パイプラインを構築したりすることができます。データフローを構成すると、お客様の Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 インスタンスにデータを保存できます。また、データフローでは Microsoft Common Data Model がサポートされており、標準化された拡張可能なデータ スキーマのコレクション (エンティティ、属性、リレーションシップ) を使用できます。

Last month I was lucky enough to attend OxfordHack, a 24-hour hackathon run at Oxford University, and be a part of the judging panel. The premise is simple - turn up with your laptop, meet new people, select an idea to work on and build it in the space of 24 hours. That’s 24 hours non-stop, so entrants will end up working all night or running on a few hours sleep in a sleeping bag. It’s a chance for people to get together and build fun things, with the opportunity to win prizes.
The event kicked off with welcome talks from the event sponsors, including Microsoft, before the entrants moved onto matchmaking time. This gave them the opportunity to propose their ideas and form teams - some people arrived with ideas of what to build, others just turned up and found a team that interested them.
There were also workshops from technology vendors, showing off some cool tech that the teams could take advantage of such as Azure Cognitive Services, before the entrants were left to hack away. Students were also able to get free access to Azure services through an Azure for Students account with $100 of free credit.
All throughout the hack we had people on hand to help with any Azure questions they might have - combining the knowledge and skills of Cloud Advocates, Microsoft PMs, members of the Microsoft student teams and MVPs. Our hard work paid off, as over half of the projects ended up using Azure!
The entrants were kept well fuelled all day and night, with plenty of good food (including some yummy cupcakes) and caffeinated beverages. Once the hacking time was over, the students were judged.
The judging was split into two categories - sponsor prizes and the main competition. The sponsor prizes were awarded by sponsors such as Microsoft and had specific criteria, such as using Azure for their hack. The main prizes were awarded by the hackathon itself to the best ideas.
The winner of the Microsoft Prize was an app called Finder, an app that helps visually impaired people find items around their home. It used cameras placed around the house and the Azure Custom Vision service to identify in which room a certain object was. Then, once the user was in the appropriate room, it used ARKit on an iPhone to detect the item in 3D space and direct them to it. This was such a great idea and would be a great assistant for many, from people with visual impairments to those with memory impairments. Each member of the team was awarded an Xbox One X, and the team also won entry to the regional semi-finals of the Microsoft Imagine Cup.
The overall OxfordHack winners were:
3rd place: EasyShop - a chat-bot based shopping service that finds products based on an image or photo.
2nd place: StudentReax - an app to collect student feedback about lectures that compiles regular student surveys, as well as watching the students in the lecture to see how engaged they are.
And the overall winner was:
1st place: ParliaMate - provides a live, filterable data stream of parliamentary debates.
Congratulations to all the students involved, and to all the winners. I can’t wait to see what gets built at the next one!

There were no new features added to the Office 365 Roadmap last week. However, there is one correction to the information provided last week regarding the availability of Flow and PowerApps in the (U.S.) Government Community Cloud - the Estimated Release date has been corrected to Q4 CY2018.
Teams continues to be the focus of upcoming events, including a just announced Ask Microsoft Anything (AMA) for Teams on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 9am Pacific. Also, the Healthcare & Life Sciences Virtual Conference will be held the week of January 7, 2019 with one 90-minute session per day.
Blog posts in last week's roundup include information on the new Teams adoption hub, a summary of the OneDrive Message Center notifications for November, a "pitstop" to review the SharePoint Online roadmap, and recommendations on maintaining security compliance in your organization. In addition, there is an important announcement regarding changes to Flow and PowerApps capabilities that will require Flow and PowerApps Plan 1or Plan 2 in the future.

Updates to Microsoft Flow and PowerApps for Office 365
Office 365 plans include PowerApps and Flow capabilities to help organizations extend Office 365. Beyond Office 365, PowerApps and Microsoft Flow Plans 1 and 2 offer additional capabilities including integrating data outside of Office 365 into Office 365 experiences and standalone apps. We are introducing some changes to simplify the distinction between the version of PowerApps and Flow for Office 365 plans and PowerApps and Flow Plans 1 and 2 by making the following changes:
Effective February 1, 2019, the following capabilities will only be available with PowerApps and Flow Plan 1 and Plan 2:
Customers with active users of these features will get an automatic extension until January 31, 2020 or the expiration of their existing Office 365 subscription term (whichever is longer). Otherwise, if you have no active usage but still would like to use the features listed above, you can submit a ticket to request an extension via Microsoft Support before January 31, 2019 to ensure uninterrupted service. Extensions will run for twelve months or the expiration of your existing Office 365 subscription term (whichever is longer). Your ability to request an extension will expire on April 30, 2019. After that, unless previously extended, use of these services will require PowerApps and Flow Plan 1 or Plan 2.

Office for MAC - November 2018 Release details
On November 13, 2018, Microsoft released Office 2016 for Mac Version 16.19 (Build 18110915) in 27 languages. Our Office International team was responsible for translating this release. You will see the following features once you update: (1) Click the filename at the top of the file to quickly move, rename or browse the version history of your cloud files, (2) Search the web for pictures within Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and (3) Summary Zoom in PowerPoint which allows you to see all of the pieces of your presentation at once in an interactive table of contents. We've added a new, rich HTML-based text editor that will help you write HTML-based emails. Hello, Paul Bergson back again. It is late fall and once again playoff time for High School and Collegiate volleyball. Women's volleyball in Minnesota is a big deal and I have played and coached for over 30 years and I have a lot of great memories with my friends and family in this sport. One thing I have learned is teaching young athletes to be well rounded in the game. Many become focused on the offensive part of the game and won't put the effort to learn how to become a skilled defender. Yet they don't seem to understand if you can't control the ball defensively you don't get to set up an attack against your opponent.
I see this same sort of mentality when it comes to preparation for the defense against phishing attacks. There are technical measures that can be put in place to guard against malware which includes Phishing attacks but the last line of defense against Phishing is your user base.
Preparing your users to be on the lookout for phishing attacks is difficult to do. Most figure their job isn't very glamorous, and no one would want to target them. Yet, the largest attack vector isn't software flaws but is instead the human factor. Email Phishing attacks randomly target millions of users and targeted spear-phishing attacks focus on high value assets within the company. Spear-phishing attacks are more effective and much harder to detect with "roughly 75% of all company breaches now start with phishing attempts designed to steal user credentials."

Look at that number, 75%! With a number that large it makes it easier for IT decision makers to justify budget expense requests, to their management, to protect the enterprise infrastructure. So what type of equipment is needed to protect against "Phishing" attacks? No physical equipment is needed! Only annual or more frequent "User Training", along with ongoing tests to ensure users are following training guidance.
What about email and spam filters, don't those protect the enterprise? The answer is yes, but like anything else phishing/spear-phishing attacks evolve and some of this email still lands in your user's inboxes.

It is at this point; your users are your last line of defense. Awareness and training could be the difference that saves your enterprise from attackers getting a foot hold within the company and the opportunity to pivot from this compromised workstation. If your user's have been trained to spot a phishing attack (or watering hole) they can stop the attack in the "Kill Chain".

Training your users on how to spot an attack is based on not trusting people or organizations your users aren't familiar with and to ensure the information provided within an email is legitimate.
Once training has been completed it can be crucial to be aware of the level of understanding your users have on this threat. This awareness can be performed with a Phishing awareness assessment. An awareness assessment creates a phishing simulation to see which users fall victim, which don't fall victim and those that don't fall victim and report the attack. The details that are pulled from this assessment can then be used to help retrain those users that fell victim.
An awareness assessment can be created manually but that can be difficult, there are third party tools and vendors that can provide this service, but Office 365's Threat Intelligence service recently released a new enhanced feature called "Attack Simulator". Attack Simulator has three options available:
In order to use Attack Simulator, there are several prerequisites:
The only users capable of using the Attack Simulator feature are O365 Global Administrators or someone that has been delegated the "Security Administrator" role.
Prior to running an in-house phishing attack, ensure to get leadership approval, since this could be considered a hostile act even if it is just a simulation.
The O365 team has created a number of scenarios to help our users create a targeted attack. Along with the links provided below I have also included a short video on the console:
I still recall an eventual DII collegiate player on my team, good enough to help the team offensively but a detriment defensively sitting on the bench as we were playing for a berth in the state tournament. Sadly, she never got an opportunity to play in the tournament run. The following year she finally realized that there were three components to the game – Bump, Set and Spike. Think of this as the volleyball "Kill Chain" (Lockheed Martin framework) which opponents will leverage to their advantage.
If you have access to the Attack Simulator, don't "Sit on the bench" figuring it isn't important. It is!!! Use this tool to help educate and protect your enterprise from Phishing attacks as well as Password Spray and Brute Force attacks.

iMOKO とパートナーの Revera は、ニュージーランドの地方都市で、子供や地域のために迅速で頼れる医療サービスを提供しています。このクラウド ベースの医療システムは、インターネット接続が不安定な場所でも診断や治療が可能です。Azure Stack の導入により、iMOKO の医療システムの信頼性は大幅に向上し、データ主権やパブリック クラウドに接続できないといった問題にも対処できるようになりました。
今年初めに政府機関への Azure Stack の提供を開始し、ID、サブスクリプション、登録、請求、バックアップおよびディザスター リカバリー ソリューション、Azure Marketplace のあらゆる面で、真のハイブリッド クラウドを実現できるようになりました。
