A new addition to the upcoming events is an opportunity for educators to attend a Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Academy session in various locations throughout the United States. The first session is on July 21st in San Antonio, TX, followed by a second session in San Diego, CA on July 27th.

The unveiling of Microsoft 365 at Inspire conference was last week's top highlight. Microsoft 365 brings together Office 365, Windows 10 and Enterprise Mobility + Security to deliver a complete, intelligent and secure solution to empower employees. Three new apps were also announced, providing even more value to Office 365 Business Premium customers. This week's digest also has details on new intelligent search capabilities in OneDrive for Business, updates to the Outlook app on Android and iOS, as well as several new features in Microsoft Flow.

Digitize your workplace one photo at a time with intelligent search in OneDrive for Business

A picture is worth a thousand words, and now your images uploaded to OneDrive can be just that with our new intelligent detection and search functionality. Taking notes is much harder than snapping a photo with your phone. It's a great way to document a meeting or site visit; the whiteboard image tells the story of shared construction and development. With that in mind, the product team have been hard at work on a feature which we hope helps you every day, to work smarter, faster and with better recollection. We're excited to share some of the steps on the journey with you. We are starting small at first, but have a goal to grow the capability based on your feedback and needs. Releasing this month (July 2017) is the ability to search for photos using the objects that are in them. When you upload an image into OneDrive, whether a snap of a whiteboard, a receipt, a screen shot, a vector graphic, line drawing or even x-ray film, OneDrive will automatically detect it, and make it available in search, without you having to do anything other than upload the image.

Redesigned navigation, conversations and search in Outlook for iOS and Android

We’re launching exciting new changes to Outlook on iOS and Android. It’s the Outlook you know and love, with a redesigned conversation experience and the ability to quickly switch between accounts and browse folders. In addition, new intelligent search capabilities, powered by Microsoft Graph, are coming soon. The new accounts navigation and conversations experiences are available now in Outlook for iOS with Outlook.com and Gmail accounts. Support for Office 365 accounts will be rolling out in the coming days. The new search experience is coming soon to Outlook for iOS. We’re working hard right now to bring all three of these new experiences to Outlook for Android over the next couple of months.

Easily publish your flows to the public gallery, improved custom connector experience and more!

It's now easy to publish any flows you create to the public gallery. Simply select the More... menu when you are looking at a flow and then choose the Submit to Gallery option. You can choose the set of categories for the template that will be in the gallery. We have also released a new action for the Office 365 Outlook and Outlook.com connectors called Get calendar view of events. This action takes a start time and end time and inputs, and returns a list of the events, including instances of recurring events, that happen during that time window. There is a new Run now option on the mobile app when you select a flow that has Recurrence as the trigger. This means you can quickly kick off flows that normally run on a schedule. There are several new capabilities in the Custom Connector experience. First, you can create dynamic dropdowns. Dynamic dropdowns are used when the set of items in a list can change depending on the user. The second new feature is you can add polling triggers. The third new feature for custom connectors is there is a rich experience for testing.

SharePoint Online: Coming soon - new capabilities from Site Information panel (change site icon and delete site)

We wanted to share a couple of new features that will be enabled on the Site information panel (accessible from the gear menu) that site owners will soon be able to take advantage of: (1) Change the site icon: For group connected sites this will update the icon for the group and reflect in other group workloads, and (2) Delete site: This will allow site owners to delete site. For group connected sites, this will trigger the deletion of the group as well.  Owners will be prompted with a confirmation dialog requiring an explicit acknowledgement via checkbox that content will be deleted before proceeding. We plan to start rolling this feature out in the next couple of weeks, starting with First Release.

We are pleased to announce the first public release candidate for SQL Server 2017, Release Candidate 1 (RC1), which will be made available later today. This means that development work for the new version of SQL Server is complete along most dimensions needed to bring the industry-leading performance and security of SQL Server to Windows, Linux, and Docker containers.

In our seven community technology previews (CTPs) to date, SQL Server 2017 has delivered:

• Linux support for tier-1, mission-critical workloads – SQL Server 2017 support for Linux includes the same high availability solutions on Linux as Windows Server, including Always On availability groups integrated with Linux native clustering solutions like Pacemaker.
• Graph data processing in SQL Server – With the graph data features available in SQL Server 2017 and Azure SQL Database, customers can create nodes and edges, and discover complex and many-to-many relationships.
• Adaptive query processing – Adaptive query processing is a family of features in SQL Server 2017 that automatically keeps database queries running as efficiently as possible without requiring additional tuning from database administrators. In addition to the capability to adjust batch mode memory grants, the feature set includes batch mode adaptive joins and interleaved execution capabilities.
• Python integration for advanced analytics – Microsoft Machine Learning Services now brings you the ability to run in-database analytics using Python or R in a parallelized and scalable way. The ability to run advanced analytics in your operational store without ETL means faster time to insights for customers while easy deployment and rich extensibility make it fast to get up and running on the right model.

Key enhancements in Release Candidate 1

In SQL Server 2017 RC1, there were several feature enhancements of note:

• SQL Server on Linux Active Directory integration – With RC1, SQL Server on Linux supports Active Directory Authentication, which enables domain-joined clients on either Windows or Linux to authenticate to SQL Server using their domain credentials and the Kerberos protocol.
• Transport Layer Security (TLS) to encrypt data – SQL Server on Linux can use TLS to encrypt data that is transmitted across a network between a client application and an instance of SQL Server. SQL Server on Linux supports the following TLS protocols: TLS 1.2, 1.1, and 1.0.
• Machine Learning Services enhancements – In RC1, we add more model management capabilities for R Services on Windows Server, including External Library Management. The new release also supports Native Scoring.
• SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) – In addition to the enhancements to SSAS from previous CTPs of SQL Server 2017, RC1 adds additional Dynamic Management Views, enabling dependency analysis and reporting. See the Analysis Services blog for more information.
• SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) on Linux – The preview of SQL Server Integration Services on Linux now adds support for any Unicode ODBC driver, if it follows ODBC specifications. (ANSI ODBC driver is not supported.)
• SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) on Windows Server – RC1 adds support for SSIS scale out in highly available environments. Customers can now enable Always On for SSIS, setting up Windows Server failover clustering for the scale out master.

SQL Server 2017 for faster performance

SQL Server 2017 has several new benchmarks demonstrating faster performance than competitive databases, and against older versions of SQL Server:

• The world record TPC-H 1TB nonclustered data warehousing benchmark, achieved in April 2017 using SQL Server 2017 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and HPE Proliant DL380 Gen9 hardware.
• A new, nonclustered TPC-H 10TB data warehousing workload benchmark achieved using SQL Server 2017 on Windows Server 2016 and Lenovo ThinkSystem SR950 hardware. At 1,336,109 QppH, this newly published benchmark is a world record.
• A new TPC-E benchmark achieved with SQL Server 2017 running on Windows Server 2016 on a Lenovo ThinkSystem SR650, a world record for 2 socket TPC-E results.

Streamline your DevOps using SQL Server 2017

In SQL Server 2017, we have introduced support for SQL Server on Linux-based containers, a benefit for customers using containers in development or production. We’re also working to help developers get started developing an app for SQL Server as fast as possible with installation instructions, code snippets, and other handy information.

Customers are already benefitting from SQL Server 2017

In fact, with our Early Adoption Program, customers can develop new applications for SQL Server 2017 or add Linux support to existing applications, and get the support and end-user license agreement that they need to go into production on SQL Server right now. Here are some customers already benefitting from SQL Server 2017 on Linux:

• Convergent Computing – A system integrator and longtime Microsoft partner, Convergent Computing was able to achieve a much faster return on server and storage hardware investments than usual by moving some tier-2 applications to inexpensive, white box servers running SQL Server 2017 on Linux.
• dv01 – Financial technology startup dv01 started out with an open source database on a competitor cloud. But when it ran into performance and scale problems, SQL Server was able to give it 15X faster performance, plus in-database advanced analytics. And by moving to SQL Server 2017, dv01 could standardize its operating systems on Linux—all with an easy migration.

SQL Server 2017 will bring with it support for the Linux OS and containers running on Windows, Linux, and macOS. Our goal is to enable SQL Server to run in modern IT infrastructure in any public or private cloud.

With support for containers, SQL Server can now be used in many popular DevOps scenarios.  Developers working with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines can now include SQL Server 2017 containers as a component of their applications for an integrated build, test, and deploy experience.

CI/CD automation with containers – Using containers greatly simplifies the development, testing, and deployment of applications. This is achieved by the packaging of all dependencies, including SQL Server, into a portable, executable environment that reduces variability and increases the speed of every iteration in the CI/CD pipeline. This also enforces a consistent experience for all participants since they can share the same state of an application in their containers. Developers can improve applications in their local environments during the first part of the Continuous Integration process.

The development process starts by taking a container that represents the current state of a production application, including a subset of the sanitized data. Developers can then add their features and fixes to it, while having the ability to verify the functionality of the application at any moment. Then, the container can be sent to a testing/quality assurance environment where it can be tested with a larger, more representative dataset.

Continuous Deployment is a critical part of DevOps pipelines. With a successful CD pipeline, a validated and self-contained version of the application is available. Developers can publish and share fully configured containers with all application dependencies, including SQL Server, with their peers. This can significantly improve developers’ ability to collaborate as they can all work on the same exact configurations simultaneously without having to build the complicated environment necessary for developing and testing applications with many components.

Parallel testing made fast and easy – Developers can automate the large-scale testing of containerized applications that include SQL Server. Thousands of tests can execute in parallel using high-density container deployments with managed container services. Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, or other orchestration systems can be used to easily manage a large number of test executions. Long-running test cycles can be optimized by load balancing the executions across multiple pods that spin up on demand and spin down when finished.

The Microsoft SQL Server development team is now taking advantage of these capabilities in building, testing, and publishing the new versions of SQL Server 2017. The team uses Azure Container Services to deploy hundreds of containers managed by a large Kubernetes cluster to execute all daily tests of SQL Server. Hundreds of thousands of tests are executed within hours of the availability of a new build! This methodology has enabled the team to run more tests in less time with fewer resources.

Multi-OS development, test, and production environments – With the containerization of the app, developers no longer need to be concerned about aligning stages of the development and production pipeline with the same exact distribution and version of Linux. Developers can containerize their application environment, including SQL Server, to abstract it from the operating system of the underlying host. Whether part of the pipeline is operated on Ubuntu and other parts in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), the ability to containerize the entire application environment eliminates the need to overcome challenges of a cross-platform environment. Developers are also free to choose their preferred development environment without worrying about compatibility issues in later parts of the pipeline. With SQL Server 2017, developers can run SQL Server Linux Docker images on macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Deploying SQL Server into production – As new versions of the application are tested and verified, builds of the containers are published for use in staging and production. The exact version of the SQL Server that was used throughout the development and testing pipeline is now in the production image, and the team can be confident that the entire stack, including SQL Server, has been tested as one unit and is ready for use.

With the announcement a few months ago that CodePlex, the home of AutoSPInstaller and plenty of other open-source projects, was going to shut down roughly by the end of 2017, I knew I'd have to take action to keep my popular AutoSPInstaller automated SharePoint 201x installation project accessible. So, after a successful migration attempt for my other popular (but much smaller) CodePlex project AutoSPSourceBuilder, I decided to give AutoSPInstaller migration a try. Luckily, the migration process has gotten much smoother, and happened much more quickly and with less effort than I'd anticipated. Mind you only the source code and version history has been migrated - no Discussions, Issues or Releases will be moved over - so we'll be starting from scratch in a sense for those.

In the new Microsoft Intune on Azure administration console, there is a new “Discovered apps” node available for each MDM enrolled device.

There’s been some recent confusion around what we should expect to see in here.

The Discovered apps node is a direct reflection of the devices discovered apps at the last Hardware Inventory time.

For devices with Device Ownership marked as Corporate this will be all apps installed on the device. For devices with Device Ownership marked as Personal this will be all apps installed via the Intune Company Portal or apps installed in a Required deployment.

The list of apps displayed here are only reflective of those apps installed at the last inventory scan. Please be aware that inventory is run every 7 days for mobile devices, so the Discovered apps list could potentially be up to seven days out of date.

We already have a working Primary and secondary replica and we know that ConfigMgr 1702 does support an extra replica i.e. 2^nd Secondary replica. So we are adding a freshly built node as a secondary replica.

To add a new replica member

1. Add the new server as a secondary replica to the availability group. See Add a Secondary Replica to an Availability Group (SQL Server) in the SQL Server documentation library.
2. Stop the Configuration Manager site by running Preinst.exe /stopsite. See Hierarchy Maintenance Tool.
3. Use SQL Server to create a backup of the site database from the primary replica, and then restore that backup to the new secondary replica server. See Create a Full Database Backup and Restore a Database Backup using SSMS in the SQL Server documentation.
4. Configure each secondary replica. Perform the following actions for each secondary replica in the availability group:

1. Ensure the computer account of the site server is a member of the Local Administrators group on each computer that is a member of the availability group.
2. Run the verification script from the prerequisites to confirm that the site database on each replica is correctly configured.
3. If it’s necessary to configure the new replica, manually failover the primary replica to the new secondary replica and then make the required settings. See Perform a Planned Manual Failover of an Availability Group in the SQL Server documentation.

5. Restart the site by starting the Site Component Manager (sitecomp) and SMS_Executive services.

Issues with the above approach:

Now what we do not consider above is the fact that there are many things which are critical to us that is not synched when a new replica is set up. The SQL replica will not sync any instanceServer level objects but it only sync database level objects.

So what do we miss synching?

1. ConfigMgrEndpoint (This is the SSB endpoint and would not be synced as it is a server level object)
2. ConfigMgr SSB certificates (Same case as the above)
3. ConfigMgr Broker Logins ( The users that scope at the DB level are synched but the logins won’t be synched as they are Server level.)
4. ConfigMgr SQL Identification Cert (This is used to authenticate the Site server while connecting to SQL DB. We don’t have to manually create this as SiteComp has a check to create this. But does require manual intervention and restarting SiteComp twice to create this.)

Hence working on this issue we did come on the things to do for such addition. After some good back and forth troubleshooting, Sean Mahoney helped to get this check list compiled. Below is the scenario for adding a new node for a Primary Site. It is highly recommended to open a CSS case so that we can help you perform these things as they are dynamic dependent on where the steps are performed.

1.       Validate that Site server is a Local Admin on SQL Server

2.       Validate there is a SPN for new SQL Node

3.       Validate SQL Aliases on SQL Server

4.       Validate SQL Aliases on Site Server

5.       Add New node to Windows Failover Cluster

6.       Enable Always On to SQL Service on new Replica node and restart SQL Service

7.       Backup SSB Cert on CAS

8.       Copy Certificate to Primary

9.       Add Site Server as New Replica DB:

Now if the Node addition scenario happens to be a CAS site then the certificates from all primaries will need to be reimported on the new node.

Introduction

Upgrade Readiness is offered as a solution in the Microsoft Operations Management Suite (OMS), a collection of cloud based services for managing on premise and cloud computing environments. If you’re already using OMS, you’ll find Upgrade Readiness in the Solutions Gallery. Click the Upgrade Readiness tile in the gallery and then click Add on the solution’s details page. Upgrade Readiness is now visible in your workspace. If you are not using OMS, go to the Upgrade Readiness page on Microsoft.com and select Sign up to kick off the OMS onboarding process. During the onboarding process, you’ll create an OMS workspace and add the Upgrade Readiness solution to it.

You can use Upgrade Readiness to prioritize and work through application and driver issues, assign and track issue resolution status, and identify computers that are ready to upgrade. Upgrade Readiness enables you to deploy Windows with confidence, knowing that you’ve addressed potential blocking issues.

• Based on telemetry data from user computers, Upgrade Readiness identifies application and driver compatibility issues that may block Windows upgrades, allowing you to make data-driven decisions about your organization’s upgrade readiness.
• Information is refreshed daily so you can monitor upgrade progress. Any changes your team makes, such as assigning application importance and marking applications as ready to upgrade, are reflected 24 hours after you make them.

Prerequisites

• In order to add the connection, your Configuration Manager environment must first configure a service connection point in an online mode. When you add the connection to your environment, it will also install the Microsoft Monitoring Agent on the machine running this site system role.
• Register Configuration Manager as a “Web Application and/or Web API” management tool, and get the client ID from this registration.
• Create a client key for the registered management tool in Azure Active Directory.
• In the Azure Management Portal, provide the registered web app with permission to access OMS, as described in Provide Configuration Manager with permissions to OMS.

Integrate Upgrade Readiness with Configuration manager

Create the connection

1. In the Configuration Manager console, choose Administration > Cloud Services > Upgrade Readiness Connector > Create Connection to Upgrade Analytics to start the Add Upgrade Analytics Connection Wizard.

2. On the Azure Active Directory screen, provide Tenant, Client ID, and Client secret key, then select Next.

3. On the Upgrade Readiness screen, provide your connection settings by filling in your Azure subscription, Azure resource group, and Operations Management Suite workspace.
5. Verify your connection settings on the Summary screen, then select Next. Note You must connect Upgrade Readiness to the top-tier site in your hierarchy. If you connect Upgrade Readiness to a standalone primary site and then add a central administration site to your environment, you must delete and recreate the OMS connection within the new hierarchy.

Complete Upgrade Readiness tasks

After you've create the connection in Configuration Manager, perform these tasks, as described in Get started with Upgrade Readiness.

1. Add the UpgradeReadiness service to the OMS workspace.
2. Generate a commercial ID.
3. Subscribe to Upgrade Readiness.

1. Create upgrade readiness package and program to deploy script

3. Set the requirements for preferred platforms. Setting it to Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 64-bit

4. Update distribution point
5. Create Test collection and move client machines to new collection
7. Deploy 'UgradeReadinessScript' to 'Windows Upgrade Readiness' collection
16. Refresh Policies on Client machines
17. Once client get the policies from Management point, script will get installed

10. Check log file for script successfully completion on CM1 Server

It is important to disable Upgrade readiness demo data in OMS before we could see the actual data coming in. For disabling the Demo mode, Go to ‘Upgrade readiness’ settings and select ‘Disable’ switch for Demo Mode.

It could take up to 48-72 hours to start seeing the data online.

月額課金方式でマイクロソフトのクラウド サービスを取り扱える CSP プログラム。そのパートナーとして活動しているクラウド リセラーがどのようにクラウド ビジネスに取り組み、いかなる成果を上げているのか、興味を持たれている方も多いのではないでしょうか。そこで、クラウド ディストリビューターであるダイワボウ情報システム株式会社 (DIS) に複数の CSP パートナーをご紹介いただき、インタビューを行いました。今回ご登場いただくのは、富士ネットシステムズ株式会社 (以下、富士ネットシステムズ) 。代表取締役社長の今井 和宏 氏をはじめとする 4 名のキー パーソンの皆様に、お話をお聞きしました。

会社概要とクラウド ビジネスへの取り組み

――　まず御社の概要についてお教えください。

今井　当社は昭和 35 年 (1960 年) に通信機器のリペア事業を行う会社として創業しました。その後、通信工事や金融端末、スパコン保守などへと事業を拡大し、現在では情報通信の設計や構築保守事業、システム運用管理業務などにもビジネスを広げています。またクラウド ビジネスにも積極的に取り組んでいます。

――　どのような規模のお客様が多いのですか。

今井　通信系事業のお客様は 200 名前後、情報系事業は中小企業が多いですね。

――　ビジネスの状況は。

今井　PBX を中心とした通信系ビジネスは、市場の縮小が続いています。そのため 10 年以上前から、情報系ビジネスを手掛けるようになりました。具体的には PC の保守サポートやメンテナンス中心のビジネス展開を行っていましたが、ここでも商売は厳しいという状況です。そのためシステム構築などの開発分野やクラウドにも事業を拡大しており、ICT のプロ集団として新たなチャレンジを続けています。

――　その一環としてマイクロソフトのクラウドも取り扱っているわけですね。Microsoft Office 365 の取り扱いは、いつごろから始めているのですか。

今井　Microsoft Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS) 時代にマイクロソフトのパートナーにならないか、とお声掛けをいただき、ぜひやろうということで、そのころから取り扱いを始めています。

――　DIS とお付き合いが始まったのは？

今井　4 年前からです。当初は富士通製 PC の取り扱いからスタートしました。その後 CSP プログラムが始まったタイミングで、DIS の CSP パートナーになりました。

――　Office 365 のお客様の数はどの程度ですか。

今井　CSP と Open を合わせて 40 ～ 50 社、シート数は約 2,000 です。

Office 365 活用を支援するサービス メニュー

――　BPOS 時代から取り扱っていたということですが、当初はご苦労もされたのではないですか。

今井　そうですね。情報系ビジネスを拡大するなら、マイクロソフトの看板をぜひ活用したいと考えて BPOS の取り扱いを始めましたが、当初は苦戦しました。BPOS なら中小マーケットの拡販が可能になるだろうと期待し、毎月セミナーを行っていましたが、なかなか商談が決まらない状況が続きました。興味を持ってもらえるようになったのは、この 2 ～ 3 年です。

――　ご苦労されながらも、諦めずに続けてこられた理由は？

今井　今後間違いなく拡大するクラウド ビジネスへの先行投資だと考えたからです。早い段階で参入したことでノウハウが蓄積され、それに基づいた多様なサービスを生み出すことができました。

――　具体的には。

山下　導入前のコンサルを行う「Office 365 なんでも相談会」から、移行確認サービス、設定サービス、従業員様向けトレーニング、運用/障害サポートまで、一貫した支援サービス メニューをご用意しています。「Office 365 なんでも相談会」は 2013 年から継続して行っているもので、Office 365 の機能やご利用プランのご説明、導入にあたっての課題に関する相談などを無償で行っています。設定サービスは BPOS 時代から見積もりベースで提供していましたが、2015 年 6 月にメニュー化しました。トレーニングやサポートは 2015 年 8 月にメニューとして追加したものです。最も新しいのは移行確認サービスで、2016 年 8 月から開始しました。

――　このようなサポート メニューを用意しているのはなぜですか。

山下　Office 365 の導入は中小企業にとって、意外とハードルが高いからです。Office 365 自体の申し込みや利用は簡単なのですが、ドメインの取得や切り替えは他のサービスを使う必要があるため、中小企業の事務職の方では対応が困難です。実際にどうすればいいのか、プロバイダーも教えてくれません。このハードルをクリアすることは、中小企業に Office 365 を導入するための必須条件だと考えています。

――　「Office 365 なんでも相談会」を無償で提供しているのも、すばらしい取り組みですね。どの程度の頻度で開催しているのですか。

田島　現在では当社オフィスで、月に 3 ～ 4 回のペースで開催しています。三越前駅か小伝馬町駅から歩いて来ることができるので、場所が来やすくていいねという方が、数多くいらっしゃいます。当社の Office 365 のお客様の多くは、この相談会に参加して導入を決定しています。導入後のトレーニングや運用サポートも、お客様から高く評価されています。

山下　コンサルから運用まで 1 社でまとめられるのは、当社の強みだと自負しています。当社のサポートをご活用いただくことで、シンプルな管理が可能になります。このようなサポートが可能になったのも、BPOS からの経験が活かされているからです。また Office 365 のプロビジョニングや ID 管理に必要なスキルを評価する「Office 365 認定試験 70-346」の取得も、社内教育プランの一環として取り組んでいます。これに関しては入社 3ヶ月までの取得を目標にしており、その後に MCP まで取得した社員も 10 人程います。
 
 
 
 
 

Office 365 と DIS への評価

――　Office 365 は御社の社内でも使われていますか。

青木　もちろんです。BPOS 時代から使い続けています。

――　ユーザーとして Office 365 をどのように評価していますか。

青木　ライセンスが安価で導入しやすく、利便性も高いと感じています。Microsoft Exchange Online や Microsoft SharePoint Online、Microsoft One Drive を活用することで、場所を選ばずに働けるようになります。また当社は E3 を契約しているのですが、常に最新の Office が使えるのもいいですね。

田島　営業では Microsoft Skype for Business をよく使っています。手軽に会議が始められるので、とても便利です。

山下　「働く場所を選ばない」という話は、刺さるお客様が多いですね。最近では「Teams で LINE (個人版) 利用をなくしましょう」という提案に興味をもっていただいています。

――　DIS 経由で CSP パートナーになったことのメリットは。

山下　最大のメリットは、Office 365 と一緒に他の商材を売りやすくなったことです。特に、Microsoft Surface のような端末が一緒に売れるケースが増えています。Office 365 のライセンス販売だけではなかなか売上が大きくなりませんが、Office 365 の提案をきっかけとして他の商材も販売できるのは、大きな魅力です。

田島　しっかりとしたサポートをしてもらえるのも、メリットの 1 つです。たとえば「Office 365 なんでも相談会」でも、発足時から DIS の専門家が参加してくださっています。相談会は新規のお客様がいらっしゃる場所なので、このようなサポートはたいへん助かります。また対象業種ごとの提案資料も用意されており、そのままお客様に説明できます。他のお客様の事例も数多く紹介してくれます。

山下　CSP によって月額契約が扱えるようになったことも、当社にとってのメリットになっています。毎月課金があるとコンタクトできる回数が増え、お客様の囲い込みが行いやすくなります。課金のタイミングで新しい機能を紹介することで、新たな商談につながることも少なくありません。CSP ライセンスの発注は、DIS のライセンス管理ポータルである「iKAZUCHI」を活用しています。このサイトは他の商材も扱っているので、ビジネスの幅を広げるのにも役立ちます。DIS との関係も、CSP が始まってからさらに強くなったように感じています。

今後のビジネス戦略

――　最後に、今後のビジネス戦略についてお聞かせください。

今井　中小企業マーケットの開拓を、今後さらに積極化していきます。より多くの中小企業のお客様に Office 365 を導入していただくことで、当社のサポート ビジネスの拡大も可能になるからです。当社の売上に占めるクラウド ビジネスの割合は、

現在はまだ 1 ～ 2 割程度ですが、これを 3 ～ 4 割にしていきたいと考えています。

――　クラウドをビジネスの大きな柱にしていこうというわけですね。

今井　ただ、最近では Office 365 を扱う企業が増えているので、どう差別化していくかが課題になっていくでしょう。クラウド サービスのライセンスを販売するだけでは、十分な収益を獲得できません。付加価値をどのようにつけていくかが重要です。そのためサポート メニューの拡充や、Office 365 と連携したソリューション開発も進めていきます。これからもさまざまなところと連携しながら、独自性を出していきたいと考えています。

Yuto Nishizuka, an undergraduate at Waseda University, is a strong advocate of providing quality and accessible education for all. Originally from Yamagata Prefecture, Yuto felt that the education he received in his hometown was not sufficient to encourage students to explore their full potential.

Together with some of his classmates, he set up SYP Yamagata, a student organization that provides career counselling for students from Yamagata. SYP Yamagata regularly invites university graduates to share their experiences, showing Yamagata students the world of possibilities that await them outside of their hometown.

Hoping to do more to support youth education in Japan, Yuto joined the TOMODACHI-Microsoft iLEAP Social Innovation and Leadership Program (SIL). Following a five-week experiential training camp in Seattle, Yuto was also part of a YouthSpark Live event that saw 36 graduates from different SIL cohorts come together.

At the one-day event, the aspiring social innovators took part in workshops, panel discussions and presentations. They shared their experiences in pursuing social impact and explored new ways of leveraging technology to create positive change in their communities.

Using what he has learnt through the camp and the YouthSpark event, Yuto hopes to build a strong network and community of passionate individuals, to make a greater difference. 從今年（2017）的10月10日開始，微軟將會停止對Office 2007版本的支援。於2006年年底推出的Office 2007，當時最大的變革除了新功能外，就是Ribbon（功能區）的新介面。不過時至今日，也過了10年的時間。

微軟的Office發表至今已經超過了二十年以上，雖然Office軟體介面以及功能長期以來一直都不斷在更新，不過以現在我們看到的介面來說，有一個很重要的分水嶺，那就是多數人早已習慣的Ribbon選單介面。

Ribbon是在Office 2007的時候推出的，取代之前已行之多年的傳統式選單，在當時引起很多使用者的抱怨，畢竟用了十多年的介面一下改過來還是很不習慣。不過，現在再來看待這件事，證明了微軟堅持Ribbon選單的作法是相當正確的，畢竟軟體功能不斷推陳出新，用法及用途也越來越多元，如果還是採用傳統的固定式選單的話，恐怕就算你用了4K螢幕，軟體的選單還是不夠放。

▲當初的Ribbon選單介面讓很多使用者一度感到很不習慣，但時間一長大家也都習以為常了。

當然，所有的經典都有告別舞台的一天，從今年10月10日開始、微軟將會全面停止對Office 2007版本的支援。對個人用戶來說，或許停止支援沒什麼太大的影響，反正還是可以繼續用下去。但是對企業用戶來說，以現今網路的發展，不管在網路技術、網頁支援、通訊協定的支援、雲端空間的整合、乃至於行動裝置的整合，都和10年前的環境大不相同。更別說當今的駭客攻擊、資安風險日趨嚴重，各個層面都顯示企業需要更安全的軟體，才能配合時下的網路環境。所以，如果還在使用Office 2007或是更早之前的版本，也差不多是時間該升級了。

那麼，企業用戶有哪些升級Office的選擇呢？主要有以下兩種：

第一：購買「買斷版」的「Office 2016」。

第二：購買「訂閱版」的「Office 365」方案。

兩種方案的授權及安裝方式，與 Office 2007有什麼差別？

不管是選擇「買斷版」的「Office 2016」，或是「訂閱版」的「Office 365」方案，與10年前的Office 2007比較起來，最主要的差別有以下幾項：

1、功能上的更新：新的版本和舊的版本一定會在功能上有所更新，這十年來Office的變化當然是相當大。但是就連Office 365與Office 2016兩者也有差異，這點在下一段我們再繼續細談。
2、授權的方式：在授權的方式上，以往你會拿到一組25碼的金鑰，一邊輸入還一邊暗罵，因為一個不小心輸錯，又得要重新再輸入一次、慢慢的檢查，相當沒有效率。但現在不管是走雲端的Office 365或是走傳統形式的Office 2016，都不再使用金鑰這種方式，而是使用帳號、密碼來登入。一來免去了煩瑣的金鑰輸入，自己設的帳密更容易記住和管理；二來現在購買Office的服務都會贈送1TB的One Drive雲端空間，這自然會和自己的帳密綁定在一起。

3、安裝的方式：在Office 2007的時代，用戶是使用光碟片來安裝軟體。整個安裝時間相對較長，加上如果因光碟保存不佳，導致有刮傷或髒污，後續安裝時也會有失敗的風險，相對來說增加許多麻煩。但現在不管是Office 365或是Office 2016都是使用線上串流的方式來進行安裝，用戶先下載個約莫幾百K的安裝檔，再來就是邊下載邊安裝。如果你的網路速度夠快，硬體備配也不過於老舊，那大概十多分鐘就可以完成所有程序。安裝程式甚至還會自動判別你的作業系統，相較起來安裝的簡便性對比以往當然是大為提升。

4、雲端空間的提供：提供1TB的雲端硬碟空間，方便使用者在不同的裝置上，都能夠同步自己的文件，讓文件永遠保持在最新的狀態。也和新版本的Office 軟體做更好的整合，如果使用者不特別做設定，預設都會儲存到OneDrive的雲端空間裡，方便不同的設備取用。

5、App的支援：為了因應行動化趨勢，微軟也為旗下的Office 軟體開發了支援不同手機平台的App，如果你不需要在手機上編輯這些文件，而只是需要開啟，觀看文件，這些APP都可以免費使用。

可不斷更新的 Office 365，比起買斷版的Office 2016多了哪些新功能？

基於Office as Service的概念，如果你使用的是Office 365，可享有軟體功能即時更新的好處。這點也是買斷版Office 2016所不具備的優勢。在這裡，我們就依照不同的Office程式，來介紹一些新功能的主要特色。

Word

插入文件項目

以往在Word文件裡頭，想要插入與文件相關的圖片或是檔案時，你是不是都得去資料夾裡撈好久，才知道要插入什麼檔案呢？在新的「插入文件項目」的設計上，當你點選「插入」選單中的「個人化搜尋與建議」並選擇「文件項目」時，右側就會跳出一個可以讓你輸入關鍵字的搜尋欄，輸入欲搜尋的字詞之後系統就會為你列出所有相關的文件。

這裡的搜尋，是針對儲存在Office 365雲端裡的檔案進行搜尋，包括存放在OneDrive或是你與同事放在SharePoint上共用的檔案。試想一下，過往你跟同事要某個檔案時，可能需要等對方花時間找，而現在透過這種方式，只要將大家共享的檔案放到雲端上，之後就直接透過個人化搜尋來找尋檔案插入即可，再也不用麻煩到別人！

1. 試著點選「插入文件項目」後，畫面右側就會出現「個人化搜尋與建議」，接著輸入關鍵字。
2. 我們以「車」作為關鍵字，找到了一份Word文件，裡面有一張與車子有關的圖檔，介面會很聰明的將這個圖檔直接顯示在搜尋結果上。
3. 我們在找到的結果上，按下「新增圖片」，就可以直接將圖片插入到在編輯的文件中。

研究工具 

在「參考資料」中的「研究工具」，對於需要加入大量參考資料輔助的人來說，也是相當實用的工具，你不需要離開Word，可以直接在操作介面上輸入關鍵字，找到你需要的輔助資料。系統會依照專業論文期刊的寫作格式，幫你把找到的內容新增引用到文件中，大大降低手動輸入的複雜度。

1. 在「參考資料」中點選「研究工具」。
2. 接著輸入關鍵字之後，即會列出相關的結果。
3. 如果想要引用某一段文字，只需把該文字段落選取起來，就可以透過點選「新增」或是「新增並引用」加入到你的文件中。
4. 如果在上個步驟你選擇「新增」的話，所選擇的內容就會直接貼上到文章內變成內文使用；如果你選擇「新增並引用」的話，則會在內容的最末段加上文章的標題以及時間，某些文章查不到時間的話就會如下圖一樣顯示「無日期」。
   

   拼字檢查

   拼字難免有錯誤的時候，現在只要點擊滑鼠右鍵，除了會直接在選單上列出可能的正確拼字結果外，如果依稀記得該字詞如何發音的話，還可以利用語音方式來進行校正。

   筆跡編輯器

   Office已經可以支援利用滑鼠或是觸控直接在文件上加註或是畫重點，而透過筆跡編輯器更可以讓你以手寫的方式來編輯修訂文件，整個概念有點像是用手來批改作文一樣，將滑鼠化做筆，對文件進行修改。

   舉例來說，利用滑鼠游標在文件上劃過去，可以直接在某一段文字上畫線，直接把這段文字刪除掉。當然，也可能會發生誤刪的狀況，因此系統也有提供復原的功能。或是你其實是修改別人的文件，因此你想保留你的筆跡，讓別人知道你改了哪些地方。

   Outlook

   ＠Mention

   就像是臉書或是Twitter，當提及某些人的人名時，會利用＠的方式把這些人名標註出來，現在到了Outlook裡頭也一樣可以使用。當你在信件中輸入＠的時候，就可以跳出你可以標註的聯絡人。

   插入文件項目

   與Word的插入文件項目的功能一樣，也可以在Outlook裡頭使用。

   PowerPoint

   QuickStarter

   一般幫我們新增簡報的時候，會有很多預設的範本或是空白簡報來開始，但是現在有QuickStarter，這有點像是一個聰明的簡報助手，比方說你想要設計一個與腳踏車相關的簡報，可以幫你到網路上找到相關的腳踏車圖片，並且幫你把簡報的主題設計好。

   ▲當你要新增簡報時，可以看到「QuickStarter」。

   ▲輸入簡報的主題關鍵字，就可以協助你產生相關的投影片。

   ▲系統會依照你輸入的主題，幫你找到一些範本來給你選取，用來產生你的簡報。

   ▲之後它還會提供的多種不同的投影片設計供你選擇，你只要點選縮圖就可以完成投影片的設計。

   設計構想

   設計構想與QuickStarter很類似，一樣是幫你快速將簡報設計好，只是注重的方向不大一樣。當你在一份投影片中貼上一張圖片，就可以自動在PowerPoint右側的欄位跳出設計構想（或是你也可以手動在「設計」選單中，選擇「設計構想」）會針對這張圖片，提供不同的簡報排版格式讓你選擇。

   ▲在主編輯區插入圖片後，右側的「設計構想」欄位就可以有版型可以選。這些版型是即時根據你的這張圖片所給的建議，而非每次都是制式的版型。

   ▲現在再插入第二張圖在同一張簡報中，你可以看到右邊的設計構想提供的版型也隨之變動，會依照你的插入圖片數量來設計最佳的編排效果。

   轉化

   過往做簡報時為了讓簡報看起來更酷炫、專業，有人會使用移動路徑，讓簡報上的圖案呈現出動畫一般的移動效果。
   以前當你要這麼做時，可能需要拉來拉去，找不到路徑時，還需要花功夫自己做排列、對齊。但現在使用PowerPoint新的「轉場」只需一鍵即可完成。你只要把需要轉化的圖形、文字等，製作成兩張投影片，一張是移動前的位置，一張是移動後的位置，再選擇轉場效果裡的「轉化」，當PowerPoint發現兩張投影片有相似的元素，而且PowerPoint已經透過兩張投影片知道這些元素的起點和終點，「轉化」就會自動幫你計算所有物件的移動路徑，不需要之前那些繁瑣的過程。

   ▲以前你要用很繁瑣的方式，才能讓簡單中的物件流暢的動起。現在利用「轉化」的功能，就可以快速的做到。

   圖示

   一般做簡報，除了圖片外，有時還需要一些小圖示來做搭配。但一般你能找到的小圖示都不是向量的，而且大小和顏色也無法調整。在新的Office中，甚至連這個小圖示都幫使用者準備好了。

   在「插入」的選單中，多了一個叫「圖示」的功能，幫你把各種小圖示分類好。原始的圖示是黑色，但是使用者可以自行更改和調整。你可以調整邊框、大小和顏色，而且因為是向量圖檔，所以你拉再大也不會有馬賽克的鋸齒狀。

   Excel

   地圖

   也是用Bing Map的功能嵌入進來的，過去很多圖表都是數據化的，都是將數據轉化成線條，圓餅之類的圖表。但是對於地理位置的表達比較不方便。

   現在Excel中插入「地圖」功能，可以幫助你將數據與地理位置來搭配，並且可以即時將數據呈現出來。位置的精確程度，可以到各個國家的一級城市，但是鄉、鎮、區可能就沒辦法幫你找到分布的位置。

   買斷版Office 2016與Office 365，在行動支援度上的比較

   這個議題雖然在前面的段落已經稍微提過，不過由於「行動化」對於現代人的影響實在太大了，必須在本段再強調、說明一番。

   在2007年，當時所謂的「行動」需求就是將Office裝在筆電裡，藉此達到行動化的目的。畢竟，那一年的一月，賈伯斯才剛剛向世人展示第一代的iPhone而已，在當時沒有人會想到日後手機、平板乃至於雲端的重要性會擴展到今天的規模。

   時至今日，這世界早已跨入手機、平板不離身的時代，工作不可能只依靠桌機、筆電就能搞定。因此，工作者一定得考慮到人在外頭時要如何快速存取資料。這個時候，有兩件事必須要考慮到，第一是「雲端」資料是否能隨時存取；第二則是你是否能在需要的時候，馬上就可運用手邊的行動裝置（不管是平板或是手機）進行文件編修。

   雲端空間的支援度

   首先來談雲端空間。微軟的雲端空間當然就是OneDrive，如果你選擇的是買斷版Office 2016，那是沒有贈送雲端空間的，因此你只能和一般人一樣去申請免費的OneDrive空間，或者是選擇其它的雲端空間來使用。採取這種方式，或許你可以在雲端空間裡儲存一些零星的個人檔案，但如果想要有系統的、將公司重要的文件分門別類的放在雲端空間裡隨時取用的話，那就不用想了。反觀Office 365則提供使用者1TB的OneDrive空間，先不管你的需求如何，這容量對90%以上的工作者來說都相當足夠了。

   行動裝置的支援度

   商務人士出門在外有時難免需要臨時針對文件進行修改，有時可能只是修改一兩段話，為了這件小事如果還得找間網咖或是找台筆電，甚至是大費周章請公司同事代為傳送文件或代為修改，那未免也太沒效率了。

   微軟從2015年開始，就已經針對Word、Excel、PowerPoint這些主要的Office成員推出在iOS、Android上的行動版App，當然功能不像桌機版那麼強大完整，但是至少可以滿足臨時的需求。而一直發展到今年，這些行動版App在使用的流暢度以及介面的設計都變得更加便利。不過，在Android以及iOS版上的App並不是免費使用的，這些都是屬於Office 365的一部份，你必須要透過Office 365的使用者帳號登入才能使用。

   ▲以Word的Android版為例，行動版的介面針對手機的特性進行調整，讓你以最熟悉的方式來切換功能，而非只是將桌機版的介面直接縮小到手機上。因此在使用上真正符合行動化的需求。

   ▲現在你可以使用手機修改文件，也能使用到許多Office的主要功能，是真正具備實用性的。

   如果你用的是買斷版的Office 2016，由於你沒有Office 365的帳號，因此無法享有使用Android以及iOS版App的便利性，不過，如果臨時有急用的話，依然還是可以透過這些App在線上進行「預覽」文件的動作。只是，如果想要進一步編輯文件的話，還是需要回到筆電或是桌機來編輯。

   以下是買斷版Office 2016與訂閱Office 365兩者的差異比較，透過表格可以更清楚知道你可以得到的服務有哪些。

   聰明試算，你該入手買斷版還是訂閱版？

   「Office 2016」的買斷版，就是像以往那種買軟體光碟的概念，你買了這套產品，安裝在公司的電腦上，微軟會支援一段時間的漏洞更新（像2007就支援了10年，但是只是漏洞和臭蟲的修復）。至於買斷版的費用，大致上依照你購買的數量多寡，與經銷商談的價格而定。

   而升級到「Office 365」，就是一種「租賃」的概念，在你「租賃」的期間，永遠都是使用最新版的功能，只要Office 365更新了任何新功能，你馬上就能使用它（這是買斷版不會有的，買斷版只會修復安全漏洞，不會更新功能）。

   接著，我們來看一下「買斷」跟「租賃」兩者在成本上的差別。

   「Office 家用及中小企業版2016」以官網上的說明來看，內容包含了Word、Excel、PowerPoint、OneNote 和 Outlook；可以安裝在一部PC或是一部Mac上。買斷的價格是新台幣8,290元。

   至於採租賃概念的Office 365，對中小企業來說，適合的訂閱方案有Office 365商務版、Office 365商務進階版、Office 365商務基本版。其中Office 365商務基本版雖然每月的價格最便宜，但只有提供線上的Office方案可以使用，一般企業使用者可能無法習慣。因此，建議你考慮Office 365商務版、Office 365商務進階版這兩種方案。

   這兩種方案的差別在於「可供使用的應用程式數量」，Office 365商務版提供包括Word、Excel、PowerPoint、Outlook、Publisher 及 OneNote、Access等在內的程式，每個使用者每月只要花費285元，就可以安裝在五台不同的裝置上。

   而現在的整個Office家族除了Word、Excel、PowerPoint、Outlook這些基本的老面孔成員之外，這幾年由於社群以及網路的變化，也陸續加入了許多新的成員。如果你對這些新成員有需求的話，那就建議選擇Office 365商務進階版，每個使用者每月只要花400元，就能安裝在五台不同的裝置上。

   總結：除了成本考量，更該重視工作者真正的需求

   除了價格成本，現在企業選購Office軟體還得有更多的考量，包括安全性、便攜性…等等。舉例來說，10年前工作者對Office的要求就是只要能在電腦上進行文書處理就好，但現今的工作環境不同了，工作者不一定侷限在辦公室定點上班，很多人甚至一整天都不在辦公室，他們對於Office的要求就進化成能隨時隨地辦公。或者說，至少需要公司的電腦裝一套Office軟體，然後自己的筆電上再裝一套Office軟體，甚至，有些人還需要在手機、平板上安裝。

   這樣看來，算法又更複雜了。如果一個員工需要在辦公室裝一台、筆電上再裝一台，那依照買斷版的算法，一個人就必須要買兩套以上的Office軟體。再不然就只能要求員工自求多福，盡量不要離開辦公室工作。

   反觀Office 365就不一樣了，以Office 365商務版來說，可以讓員工在最多5台PC（Mac）、5台平板、5支手機上安裝Office，價格還是每人每月285元。而這樣的價格，為員工帶來的是更大的工作自由度，以及比其它人（使用買斷版）在工作上更快速的即時性，這些為公司創造的工作效能以及利益，就不是區區一套Office軟體的價格可以衡量的。

   舉個實例來說，如果你人在外面的時，客戶的一封Mail寄到你公司信箱，內容是詢問產品報價，他正在你及對手之間做比較。這個時候如果你能即時做回覆，說不定就敲下一筆大生意，而採用買斷版的對手，可能就要一直等到回公司，才知道發生了什麼事。

   進一步來看，如果選擇的是Office 365商務進階版，那工作者可以獲得的靈活性就更大了，包括可以利用商務用Skype與同事進行即時聯繫、利用Planner與夥伴們在線上進行視覺化的專案管理、使用Teams與同事在聊天中激發創意想法，上述這些實用且有效率的協同溝通都不需要將一群人綁在同一個辦公室或會議室裡，只要藉由雲端隨時隨地就可以進行。也只有這樣才能符合雲端時代數位工作者的真正需求。

   當然，如果公司的性質就是規定大家都得坐在辦公室裡，哪裡都不會去，那麼選擇買斷版也就夠了。但只要是有外出的需求，甚至是業務導向的組織，可能每個人大多都不在辦公室，那麼，為他們選購看似比較便宜的買斷版，不只沒有解決實際工作上的問題，有朝一日還得另外煩惱即時行動化的困擾，到頭來反而是給自己找麻煩。

   因此，選購Office產品絕對不能只看花了多少錢！得到的東西是否真正符合組織需求、能否實際解決工作者的問題，才是最重要的。

Bots can be integrated with your website or app, or third-party connectors like Cortana, Skype, Teams, Office 365 mail, Slack, Facebook Messenger, Skype for Business, and many others. They can also use new Microsoft technologies like Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services and Language Understanding Intelligent Service (LUIS) for natural language interactions. Bots can also connect with REST APIs to leverage existing data.

To understand how to get started with the Microsoft Bot Framework, Chervine Bhiwoo has created a four-part series. He begins with an introduction to the framework and then works through a sample project on adding LUIS and Microsoft Cognitive Services to send a message to the Bing News API so it can retrieve the correct news results.

Smartphones oder Tablets sind für Wissensarbeiter längst das (mobile) Office in der Hosentasche. Das spiegelt sich auch auf den jeweiligen Home-Screens wider: Sie zeigen, auf welche Anwendungen und Dienste wir am häufigsten zugreifen und welche Bedeutung diesen somit für unseren Alltag oder zumindest unsere Arbeit zukommt. In unserer Blog-Reihe möchten wir euch die Screenshots von Wissensarbeitern aus unterschiedlichen Branchen zeigen und welche Anwendungen und Apps sie immer #mitdabei haben. Stets im Mittelpunkt: Office 365 mit all seinen vielfältigen Anwendungen. Dieser Beitrag von Thomas Roth ist der zehnte aus unserer Reihe – alle weiteren Beiträge findest du hier.

Im Fokus meiner alltäglichen Arbeit bei Microsoft mit unseren Partnern und Kunden stehen Geschäftsprozesse – nicht nur, weil vieles was wir alle tagtäglich tun, egal ob als KfZ-Mechaniker oder Product Marketing Manager, standardisierte Abläufe sind. Sondern auch weil ich unsere Kunden dabei unterstütze, die beste technologische Lösung für die Digitalisierung ihrer Prozesse zu finden und damit ihren Arbeitsalltag durch smarte Tools zu vereinfachen. In unserer globalisierten Welt sind diese Prozesse jedoch oft sehr komplex. Beispielsweise weil die Beteiligten an verschiedenen Standorten sitzen, zu verschiedenen Zeiten arbeiten. Oder weil sich die Informationslage stetig ändert, entsprechend viele Dokumente regelmäßig aktualisiert und allen Teams schnell zur Verfügung gestellt werden müssen.

Schlanke Freigabeprozesse durch SharePoint

Das gilt auch für mich und meine Kollegen: Wir arbeiten in unserem #OfficemitWindows in München-Schwabing, von zu Hause, mobil, oder an den anderen Standorten von Microsoft weltweit. Microsoft SharePoint hilft uns, effektiver zusammenzuarbeiten: Die Plattform fungiert als mächtiges Intranet, in dem wir Dokumente und Informationen teilen, über Abteilungs- und Ländergrenzen hinweg. Das können Schulungsunterlagen zur Weiterbildung sein, Neuigkeiten oder Vorlagen, die alle regelmäßig nutzen, Erklärvideos, die wir selbst erstellen und den Kollegen zur Weiterbilduing zur Verfügung stelen oder Schaubilder mit Diagrammen, die zeigen, wie man am besten das ein oder andere genehmigt bekommt. Zusätzlich erlauben uns SharePoint und OneDrive, Freigabeprozesse schlank zu halten – Review-Prozesse lassen sich leicht abbilden, da Dokumente klassifiziert werden können: Draft, Feedback benötigt, freigegeben. Per Feed oder E-Mail erhalte ich beispielsweise eine Benachrichtigung, wenn ein neues Dokument zur Freigabe bereitsteht und kann mit den Kollegen z.B. via Microsoft Teams die für Alle optimale Version schnell und einfach gemeinsam erstellen.

Über die SharePoint-App (Android, Windows Phone, iOS) kann ich die Seite mit dem entsprechenden Dokument samt vorheriger Versionen und einordnenden Informationen von überall aufrufen und direkt bearbeiten, kommentieren oder zur Sichtung an den nächsten Kollegen weitergeben. Das ist gerade für unsere flexiblen Arbeitsmodelle mit Vertrauensarbeitszeit und -ort sehr hilfreich. Daher findet sich SharePoint auch auf meinem Homescreen wieder und ist Teil meines mobilen Aktenkoffers in der Hosentasche:

Wir nutzen SharePoint darüber hinaus auch für den firmeninternen Austausch in Foren und als Firmen-Wiki, das besonders für neue Kollegen die erste Anlaufstelle ist, um sich in Themen einzulesen oder über Prozesse und Abläufe zu informieren. Weitere Gründe, SharePoint immer #mitdabei zu haben.

Office 365 から得られる新たなインサイト

Workplace Analytics は Office 365 のメールや予定表のメタデータを使用します。たとえば、宛先や差出人、件名、タイムスタンプに基づいて、組織でどのように共同作業が行われ、どのくらいの時間が費やされているのかを明らかにします。このデジタルの排出物とも言える、日々の業務で当然のように発生するデータが、行動を分析する一連の指標となって、組織で行われていることを理解する材料になるのです。

Workplace Analytics にはプライバシーやコンプライアンスに関する機能が搭載されています。Office 365 のデータの所有者はお客様です。Workplace Analytics はメタデータを収集し匿名化するだけなので、そこから先、Workplace Analytics から得られるインサイトを困難な経営課題の解決にどのように利用するかはお客様しだいです。

Workplace Analytics は、企業文化に基づく戦略的な取り組みに幅広く対処できる柔軟性を備えています。Workplace Analytics のお客様事例をいくつかご紹介しましょう。

営業部門の生産性

Fortune 500 企業のある営業部門では、Workplace Analytics を使用して、営業成績トップの担当者の共同作業パターンを特定しました。その後、その行動を営業部門全体で広く推奨したところ、大幅に売上が向上しました。お客様と接する時間が多いなど、ある程度のインサイトは想定の範囲内でした。しかし新たに、その担当者が広い社内ネットワークを持っているという発見がありました。これは、営業担当者がお客様からの問い合わせに対応する能力を測る指標になります。

マネージャーの働きぶり

Freddie Mac は Workplace Analytics を使用して、マネージャーによる企業文化の改革を推進しました。時間の費やし方に関する指標が従業員のエンゲージメントやリテンションとどのように関連しているのか調べたところ、マネージャーの行動が従業員のエンゲージメントとリテンションを左右するきわめて重要な要素であることがわかりました。1 対 1 でのマネージャーとの面談の時間、従業員へのリーダーシップの発揮レベル、作業が部門全体に割り振られている度合いなど、マネージャーの働きぶりを Workplace Analytics で測定できます。

空間プランニング

ある企業では、Workplace Analytics から得られる共同作業についてのインサイトを活用し、事業用不動産会社の CBRE と協力してオフィス空間のプランニングを行いました。従業員の予定表アイテムに紐づくメタデータを分析し、ミーティングに関連する移動時間を計測することにしました。それを基にオフィスの再配置を行ったところ、従業員それぞれの会議室への移動時間が 46% 削減されました。結果的に、1,200 人の従業員全体で移動に要していた時間が、1 週間あたり合計 100 時間節約されました。

クエリのカスタマイズ

業務上の問題点はそれぞれの企業で異なります。そこでマイクロソフトでは、Workplace Analytics で直接クエリをカスタマイズできるようにしました。データを分析する際は、メールに費やす時間、会議の時間、残業時間、ネットワークの広さなど、共同作業に関連する独自の指標を自由に選択して、業務内の活動や傾向を調査できます。また、カスタム クエリを作成したり、集計されたデータを地域、役職、部署などの分類項目で絞り込んだりもできます。
