This Microsoft Support article describes the supportability for Microsoft Lync 2010 clients on Windows 8 client systems and for Microsoft Lync Server 2010 server roles on Windows Server 2012. Be advised, the following scenarios are currently not supported on a Windows Server 2012 operating system:
