Microsoft helps IT pros and execs get on the same page

The need for regular communication between IT professionals and their senior executives that also aligns with business objectives is a takeaway the Trustworthy Computing blog follows up on from a recent study conducted by the Ponemon Institute for the IT security firm Tripwire.

It’s a win-win situation, as both IT pros and their senior execs share the common goal of wanting to manage security risks. But where they differed is what prompted the blog to share resources -- such as Microsoft’s Security Intelligence Report -- that would help make the process smoother.

The study of IT pros showed that “40 percent of the respondents say they only communicate with executives during a security incident – hardly a best practice.” And that when they did communicate, it was “too technical to be understood by senior leadership.”
