While opening UAG MMC we get "A local error has occurred."

I was working on a issue with my colleague Sunil where UAG MMC was not opening properly. After launching it we got the window below and after selecting first option , we clicked on Next :

 

On this page , we entered the details and then clicked on Next :

 

 

After that we got error :  "A local error has occurred."

 

We decided to collet UAG Tracing , please check this blog for more information :

 So in tracing , we saw this : 

ERROR:Failed to connect [0x8007203b(ERROR_DS_LOCAL_ERROR)]" 

 

And in event Viewer we saw Event ID 5

 

 

We checked time on DC and UAG server and it was not matching and there was more than 10 minutes of difference. It should not be more than 5 minutes.

After correcting the time , issue was resolved.

We can also run following command :

 

To synchronize the computer's time with the current time on the domain           

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.

  2. Type net time /domain /set, and then click OK.
