Microsoft and its partners spend a great deal of time and resources thinking of ways to use technology to make it easier and more cost-effective for utilities to meet ever-increasing power demands.
To that end, Microsoft just published SERA v2.0, or the Smart Energy Reference Architecture – an in-depth exploration of the challenges utilities face and how Microsoft technologies such as Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows Azure, SQL Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012 Parallel Data Warehouse (PDW), Windows Phone 8 and Dynamics can help utilities meet those challenges.
SERA v2.0 incorporates many of the hard lessons learned by the industry in the two years since the report’s first iteration. And SERA v2.0 has already gained the attention of one industry analyst, who described the report as: “What every utility can learn from Microsoft.”
To find out more about SERA v2.0, read today’s post over on the Microsoft Power and Utilities Blog. Then head on over to the Microsoft News Center and check out 88 Acres, which provides an in-depth look at the people and technologies that power the Microsoft campus in Redmond.
