PowerTip: Use PowerShell to Display Video Configuration

Summary: Use Windows PowerShell to display the current video configuration on your computer.

 How can I use Windows PowerShell to display the current video configuration for my computer?

 Use WMI to query the Win32_VideoController class. Select the Name, CurrentHorizontalResolution, and CurrentVerticalResolution properties. (In this example, I use wildcard characters to avoid typing the complete property names.)

Get-WmiObject win32_VideoController | select name, currentH*, currentv*

Sample output from my computer:

PS C:\> Get-WmiObject win32_VideoController | select name, currentH*, currentv*
