As you have likely seen by now, every group at Microsoft that touches aspects of our datacenter solutions has been asked to optimize for our new Cloud OS strategy. Specifically, this means delivering a common set of technologies across a variety of deployment platform. This can be a customer’s datacenter, their hosting partner’s datacenter or the Windows Azure platform.
Today I’m excited to announce that we’ve now delivered on this goal with our enterprise messaging bus – Service Bus 1.0. This product brings the functionality of the Windows Azure Service Bus to on-premises, Windows Server-based environments to allow customers and ISVs to create loosely coupled, modern applications. I’ve written a more extensive announcement on the Windows Azure blog which provides more details around the enterprise-class functionality in the product as well as the ability to be agnostic about deployment locations (public or private cloud).
This is a free downloadable set of bits that can be run on licensed versions of Windows Server and SQL Server. Please check out the longer blog post, download the product, and share your feedback.
