Who are you, where are you, and what do you do? What are your specialty technologies?

Hello friends, my name is Kapil Singh Kumawat, I am from India and my hometown is Jaipur, Rajasthan.

Currently, I am living in Frankfurt, Germany with my lovely wife. I am working as Database Architect with Cognizant Technology Solutions from last 4 years.

I have total experience of around 6 years in IT industry and during this time I have worked on multiple projects and various technologies. I have experience in designing database and development in various SQL Server versions, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS and various other ETL systems.

Microsoft Azure SQL, Power BI, Azure Data factory, Machine Learning, Azure CosmosDB, Azure Cognitive Services and Amazon AWS are the latest addition to my skill set and now I am giving more time in learning these services.

Apart from technical communities, I spend time with my family & friends, travelling to new places and watching football.

What are your big projects right now?

I currently hold the certification in Design and Implementing Big Data Analytics Solutions (70-475) as Certified Microsoft Specialist(Azure).My current projects are related to cross platform database migration to SQL Server latest versions, Azure SQL, designing new solutions and automating the process.

Currently, I am trying to get familiar with Microsoft Bot framework and cognitive services, Azure Cosmos DB and machine learning these days to move towards the path of data scientist. I will be writing about it in upcoming days and there will be many new articles on wiki.

I am also planning to take new Microsoft certifications in area of Developing and Architecting Microsoft Azure Solution.

What is TechNet Wiki for? Who is it for?

Wiki as per my view is- World of Information and Knowledge Improvement.

TechNet Wiki is for EVERYONE specially for all Microsoft technologies enthusiastic people which develops a common platform to showcase their knowledge.

It helps in learning new skills from skilled persons, upgrading the current skills to face the new upcoming challenges and technologies, improving the writing skills and interacting with the great people to learn more and more.

What do you do with TechNet Wiki, and how does that fit into the rest of your job?

With TechNet wiki, I always keep myself modernized with latest offerings from Microsoft in areas of SQL Server/Azure and learn new stuffs.

I also like to read the new blogs and articles on MSDN/Azure Blog in free time and contribute in the solving the problems at Microsoft Azure and SQL Server forums.

For my contribution in forums, I also got listed several times in Leaderboard of Database Systems contributors on MSDN which published every month by Microsoft people.

This brings more confidence and motivation in me to do more as confidence always plays a huge role in your success.

TechNet Wiki is a platform where you can spread the knowledge, upgrade your skills and anyone can modify your article to make it better and better.

At TechNet wiki, people can start contributing their knowledge by writing articles on any Microsoft product and services and lot of experts like MVP’s helps you and guide you in improving your articles by providing suggestions and feedback.

I mostly spend my time on reading SQL server and Microsoft Azure announcement articles and then play my hands around some new things. Currently, Azure Cosmos DB and Azure Cognitive Services are latest in my list.

Who has impressed you in the Wiki community, and why?

Of course, no doubt, the community itself.

You will learn something from every article and experts always there to help in improving your articles.

Still, I like the articles from experts like Naomi, Visakh, Ronen, Alberto and many others. They are also actively helping people at MSDN forums that always motivate me to do the same.

Also, we get great chances for our own networking with experts and learn from those folks.

Do you have any comments for product groups about TechNet Wiki?

Although I have one suggestion that unlike Azure Mobile app, it's also good to have a similar app for MSDN forums etc. so people can contribute more to the community.

If you are looking to share and gain knowledge, this is perfect platform.

Anyone can just jump into the ocean of TechNet Wiki and definitely they will come out as person of skills, knowledge and value.
