“Sorry, OneDrive can’t add your folder right now.”

ISSUE:

When trying to sync a OneDrive or SharePoint team site, you receive a message “Sorry, OneDrive can’t add your folder right now.”

CAUSE:

“Require Check Out” was enabled on the library.

RESOLUTION:

– Install the new OneDrive sync client version 17.3.6743.1212 or higher – http://g.live.com/1rewlive5skydrive/skydrivesetup

NOTE: When syncing libraries that require check out, or libraries with required columns or metadata, the files are synced as read-only. If you do make changes to these files, the changes will not be synced back to Office 365.

Or

– Update the “Require Check Out” setting to No.

Steps to change setting:

-In Classic View of the OneDrive/SharePoint library, click the Settings gear and turn the Ribbon On (if not already on)

-Select the Library tab

-Choose Library Settings

-Select Versioning Settings

-Change the Require Check Out from Yes to No

-Click OK
