Hi all,
Firstly welcome to the new look blog, hopefully you like the new layout (a big improvement over the old version) but more importantly we know you’ll like the new content too. Please feel free to let us know what content you would like to see on here and we’ll do our best to oblige! We know we’ve been a little quieter than we’d like and bar the great updates from Rob York (“this week at Microsoft”), it never reached its full potential. We hope to be able to add much more content this time around and still leverage Rob’s great work!
Now is probably a good time to highlight our goals and target audience for this site
The MSPREMUK blog is targeted to UK Premier customers, if you’re not one of those don’t worry, hopefully there is something for everyone. We will aim to share information on events taking place (see the Events Diary), new workshops and offerings from the Premier and PFE business. This includes but is not limited to;
· Ramp up guides – these proved popular before and we hope to continue with these
· New product overviews - What interesting products and features are out there
· DSE and Transactional services - how can we help you? What services do we have that you could leverage and what benefits do these bring.
What won’t we do? We are not a technical resource! We have MSPFE and various other PG (product group) blogs. Between the MSPFE blog and MSPREMUK blogs, we hope to have all of your business and technical needs covered.
Our key aim is to help you maximise the benefit of your Premier contract, along with highlighting the workshops and tech talks mentioned above. We will also look to call out new products and most importantly features that we believe will help you to do business, reduce costs and stay ahead of the competition.
December is not just an exciting month for obvious reasons (see the 25th), there is a lot going on in the Microsoft ecosystem too! The modern Office has launched and is now available for purchase. This covers Exchange, SharePoint, Lync as well as the usual Office client applications.
Windows 8 and Server 2012 have shipped, also Microsoft ventured into the tablet business. Have you heard of Surface? If not definitely check out http://www.microsoft.com/Surface/en-GB.
As 2012 comes to an end, for the first time in history Microsoft has an updated application for every vertical and every stack, this is a really exciting time for all of us. Hopefully you’ll keep following us here and enjoy the ride!
Thanks
