By now, I’m sure most of you are aware that SBS 2011 (Standard & Essentials) is the final version you will be able to purchase (through June of next year)…. but did you know that SBS blog is still alive and well.…. and it’s been updated to include Windows Server 2012 Essentials!
Head on over to http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/ for all of the action…. that’s where the info from my blog comes from today
Of the entire Server 2012 lineup, I feel that Server 2012 Essentials is such a compelling offering for the SMB (especially “S”) space.
Aside from the standard server features that most of you can appreciate, developers (both internally and externally) are developing some pretty cool add-ons!
Just a couple of days ago, we added the Health Report add-in, made available the System Center Management Packs, and updated the My Server for Windows Phone app:
- Health Report Add-In for Windows Server 2012 Essentials
- Windows Server 2012 Essentials Management Pack
- Windows Phone Marketplace, for the latest version of the My Server for Windows Phone app
Here are some screenshots from the Windows Phone “My Server” app:
My Server for Windows Phone is an application designed to help you keep seamlessly connected to your server resources through Windows smart phones. With My Server, you can manage users, devices, alerts, and access shared files in Windows Server 2012 Essentials.
